1909 a thriving prosperous settlement on Baker
Creek between Fairbanks and the mouth of the Tanana River about
100 miles up the Tanana. The place derives its name from the hot
springs that are there.A hotel was constructed and provision made
for the accommodation of guests who might desire to visit these
springs A farm was established at the hot springs and its productiveness
is something wonderful. Around 1906 a rich gold strike was made
in Sullivan Creek near the hot springs This strike has increased
the population and the community and by 1909 it had become the
second largest settlement in the Tanana valley
