Hello Walt, thank you for sharing your Alaska Gold Rush web site! I love reading the history! Do you have a searchable area to try to locate names of people who were there for the Gold Rush .. For people who went through the Chilcoot Trail, through Canada, by ship, etc? In case you are collecting names of people who headed to Alaska for the Gold Rush, Our family lore says 2 brothers headed there in 1904: Charles John (Carl Johan) Engdahl b. 1885, of Jonkoping, Sweden, was there summer only 1904-1904 And earned enough to build a home in Mount Vernon, Washington (he first entered US in 1896) Isaac Carl Engdahl b. 1881, Jonkoping, Sweden. was there one year 1904-1905 And earned enough to purchase a “Range” of land in Nebraska. Isaac Engdahl’s Census shows he entered US in 1905 from Alaska That is all I know at this point from interviewing his grand nephews John and Walter Granquist, both now deceased, sons of Sister, Edla Engdahl Granquist. -Pam Hillman Seattle, Washington |
